to glow = glühen
Glühwein or Mulled wine is something the Germans drink in the Christmas time… or just in the wintertime – mostly found on Christmas markets though.

In English this wine is mulled. In German it actually glows: to glow = glühen. So translated word by word: glow wine. Since the wine itself is not glowing, I guess it refers to how one feels after a glass or two or three.
